the girls that don’t exist-

Building a Beauty

Content Brand From zero

SOCIAL MEDIA · CONTENT STRATEGY · AI PRODUCTION · ANALYTICS

I started The Girls That Don't Exist to answer a question I kept running into as a stylist: what actually makes beauty content stop someone's scroll?

Building it meant owning every part of the process — content
pillars, posting cadence, visual identity, and weekly performance review. I use AI production tools (Higgsfield, Midjourney) to generate photorealistic beauty and fashion imagery, then refine and edit in CapCut and Canva for platform-native formats. The tools are new; the thinking behind them is fourteen years of knowing what beauty audiences respond to.

In its first five months, the brand reached 500K+ monthly
Pinterest impressions and 82.9K+ monthly Instagram views —
built entirely on organic, discovery-driven content while I
was working full-time.

Top Instagram Post

One post drove 82.9K views, and 96.4% of my Instagram reach comes from people who don't follow the account yet. I optimize for discovery, not audience recycling— that's the harder number and the one that grows a brand.

Two audiences, one account: consumers who want the look, and stylists who want the business. Each pillar is measured against a different goal — saves, comments, or clicks.

CONTENT PILLARS

Save This Style

High-save visual inspiration built for Pinterest and Instagram discovery. Designed to be bookmarked, not just liked, because saves are what keep a pin circulating for months.

Top performer: 187.4K views.

Hair Hot Takes

Opinion and education content that invites comments — "Be honest, what's the first thing you look at on a wig install?"

Built for conversation and community, not reach.

Stylist Business

Pricing, positioning, and charge-your-worth content aimed at working stylists. This pillar has a commercial job: it warms the audience for The Profit Chair's digital products.

The Profit Chair — my digital product line for hairstylists: a pricing calculator and client-systems toolkit, sold on Etsy. Fourteen years behind the chair taught me that most stylists undercharge because they have no system for pricing their work. I designed the products, built the brand, and drove 258 outbound clicks through organic Pinterest content with no ad spend.

CONTENT STRATEGY · COMMUNITY · BRAND VOICE

2024-2025

Built and maintained the content system behind Popcorn for the People’s Instagram: an employee spotlight series (Meet Vanessa, Meet Ethan), seasonal and product campaigns, and behind-the-scenes production storytelling.

I defined recurring content pillars, so the feed stayed consistent in voice and visual identity while telling the stories of a workforce of autistic and neurodiverse adults. A system meant the calendar was never starting from a blank page.

I also ran influencer outreach for this mission-driven nonprofit — packaging and shipping influencer kits and coordinating with micro-influencers like @stayathomejackie and @autismmomma_ to create authentic product reviews. That program drove a 75% increase in followers.

Alongside the social work, I designed event marketing collateral and built email campaigns in Klaviyo — seasonal promotions, product launches, and subscription drives, including Super Bowl campaigns — with assets produced in Photoshop and Canva. Those campaigns hit a 78.8% open rate and 98% conversion rate.

Before I built content brands, I built a client base. As a licensed cosmetologist and salon owner, I created the content that filled my own chair — wig installs, styling transformations, and client looks — and learned what beauty audiences actually stop for.

SOCIAL MEDIA · VIDEO · GRAPHIC DESIGN · EVENT MARKETING

2023 + 2024

As Social Media Manager and Coordinator for Heart of the City in 2023 and 2024, I owned the entire digital presence: performer announcement graphics, animated social reels, attendee story posts, and event carousels — produced in Photoshop, Premiere Pro, CapCut, and Canva, across two annual events serving 600+ participants.

I also produced and conducted a founder interview video series with Director Parisse Dawkins, exploring the festival’s mission to celebrate Black and Brown culture, unity, and community.

ABOUT ME

i don’t just market brands

- I understand them from inside out.

Most marketers study consumers from a distance. I’ve spent 14+ years building relationships with them face to face. As a licensed cosmetologist and salon owner, I learned what makes people trust a brand, come back, and tell their friends.

Now I bring that real-world consumer insight to every campaign I create. With a B.S. in Marketing from Rutgers Business School and hands-on experience in brand identity design, email marketing, social media strategy, and print design, I deliver marketing that connects— because I’ve been on both sides of the conversation.

Now I’m looking for my next opportunity in beauty marketing, social strategy, or brand building — somewhere I can bring strategy, creativity, and real industry insight together.
